There is noting I like to see more than stars on ice. I guess. Stars on Ice is coming to the Key Arena for a show soon. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Stars on Ice is a touring figure skating show produced by IMG. It was originally conceived in 1986 as a vehicle for IMG client Scott Hamilton, who had been released from his contract with Ice Capades, after being told that male skaters do not sell tickets. Hamilton now has retired from regular touring with the show, but remains actively involved as a producer.

Stars on Ice was originally conceived as an ice show for adults, without the skating Smurfs or Disney cartoon characters typical of other commercial ice shows of the period, such as Disney on Ice. Another concept that has carried through the show from the beginning is that of a small cast of elite skaters who perform together in ensembles as well as solo numbers. In 1991, the Canadian branch of the show, Canadian Stars On Ice, began.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Key Arena Tickets, Concerts

The Boss is coming to Seattle to rock the house. He is coming to the play with E Street Band at the Key arena. Get your tickets now.

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is an American songwriter, singer and guitarist. He has frequently recorded and toured with the E Street Band. Springsteen is most widely known for his brand of heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments centered around his native New Jersey. His eloquence in expressing ordinary, everyday problems has earned him numerous awards, including eighteen Grammy Awards and an Academy Award, along with a notoriously dedicated and devoted global fan base. His most famous albums, Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A., epitomize his penchant for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily life. He has sold over 60 million albums in the U.S. alone.[1]

Springsteen’s lyrics often concern men and women struggling to make ends meet. He has gradually become identified with progressive politics. Springsteen is also noted for his support of various relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey and elsewhere, and for his response to the September 11, 2001 attacks, on which his album The Rising reflects.

Springsteen’s recordings have tended to alternate between commercially accessible rock albums and somber folk-oriented works. Much of his iconic status stems from the concerts and marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band present intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, amongst which Springsteen intersperses long, whimsical or deeply emotional stories.

Springsteen has long had the nickname “The Boss,” a term which he was initially reported to dislike but now seems to have come to terms with, as he sometimes jokingly refers to himself as such on stage. The nickname originated when a young Springsteen, playing club gigs with a band in the 1960s, took on the task of collecting the band’s nightly pay and distributing it amongst his bandmates.

Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Key Arena Tickets, Concerts

This is a rock fest about to go off. Ozzy and Rob Zombie should be a good show. They are playing at the Key Arena here in Seattle. Here is some info from wiki:

Osbourne spent most of his early life in Birmingham, England. He was born on December 3, 1948 in abject poverty into a family of six children.

Osbourne reportedly suffered from learning disabilities (believed to be dyslexia), making school life difficult. He sought refuge in music, eventually becoming the singer of a local band, Earth.

Ozzy Osbourne would later discover a band with former class mate Tony Iommi and audition for lead singer. Iommi did not like Ozzy’s voice after hearing it in school musicals, and was reluctant to let him join. However, as Ozzy was liked by the other two members, Iommi was finally persuaded to let him join.

During this time psychedelic rock was enormously popular. To distinguish themselves from the norm, Iommi and his partners decided to play a heavy blues inspired style of music laced with gloomy lyrics. One day during rehearsals, the band noticed people queuing up outside a cinema where a horror film was being shown, and bassist Geezer Butler observed how curious it is that people like to be frightened. The film these fellows were waiting to see was the Mario Bava directed ‘Black Sabbath’. After reading an occult book that Osbourne had let Butler borrow, Butler had a dream of a dark figure at the end of his bed. Afterwards, Butler told this story to Osbourne, who wrote the lyrics to “Black Sabbath”, their first song, or one of their first songs, in a darker vein. It was the prototype of the songs that became their main style later in their career. After learning Earth was already in use, the band changed their name to “Black Sabbath” as well.

The Cure Concert Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Key Arena Tickets, Concerts

The big band of the 80’s is coming to Seattle to play at the Key Arena. The Cure is ready to perform, so get your tickets soon. Here is some info from wiki:

The Cure are an English rock band that formed in Crawley, Sussex in 1976. The band has experienced several lineup changes, with frontman, guitarist and main songwriter Robert Smith—known for his iconic wild hair, pale complexion, smudged lipstick and frequently gloomy and introspective lyrics—as the only constant member.

The members of The Cure were barely out of their teens when they first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album Three Imaginary Boys and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s the band’s increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre. After the release of 1982’s Pornography, the band’s future was uncertain and frontman Robert Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had cultivated. With the 1982 single “Let’s Go to Bed” Smith began to inject more of a pop sensibility into the band’s music. The Cure’s popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States, where the songs “Just Like Heaven”, “Lovesong” and “Friday I’m in Love” entered the Billboard Top 40 charts. By the start of the 1990s, The Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world and have sold an estimated 27 million albums as of 2004. As of 2007 The Cure have released twelve studio albums and over thirty singles, with a thirteenth album in the works.

By: Spencer    Category: Key Arena Tickets, Sports

The Seattle Storm is our home town WNBA team. Here is some info on them from wikipedia:

The Seattle Storm is a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team based in Seattle, Washington. In 2004, led by Australian basketball star Lauren Jackson and University of Connecticut star Sue Bird, the team brought the city its first professional sports championship since 1979.

The team cultivates a fan-friendly, family environment at home games by having an all-kid dance squad, which leads young fans in a conga line on the court during time-outs, to the music of “C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train)” by the Quad City DJs. Named for the rainy weather of Seattle, the team uses many weather-related icons: the team mascot is Doppler , a maroon-furred creature with a cup anemometer on its head; the theme song for Storm home games is AC/DC’s Thunderstruck; and its newsletter is called Stormwatch. Most KeyArena fans will not sit down until the Storm scores its first point of each half.

Here’s a blurb from Wiki about Stars on Ice:

Stars on Ice is a touring figure skating show produced by IMG. It was originally conceived in 1986 as a vehicle for IMG client Scott Hamilton, who had been released from his contract with Ice Capades. Hamilton now skates only occasional guest appearances with the show, but remains actively involved as a producer. Other skaters who have been long-time regulars with the show include Rosalynn Sumners, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brian Orser, and Kurt Browning.

Stars on Ice was originally conceived as an ice show for adults, without the skating Smurfs or Disney cartoon characters typical of other commercial ice shows of the period. Another concept that has carried through the show from the beginning is that of a small cast of elite skaters who perform together in ensembles as well as solo numbers. In 1991, the Canadian branch of the show, Canadian Stars on Ice, began.

The tour started on a shoestring budget, playing only a few dates in small-town arenas. 1986-1987 was Stars on Ice’s first year. Its cast included Scott Hamilton, Dorothy Hamill, Toller Cranston, Rosalynn Sumners, Brian Pockar, Lea Ann Miller & Bill Fauver, and Lisa Carey & Christ Harrison. In 1992, IMG bought out the rival “Skating” tour from Bill Graham Presents and merged its resources with that of Stars on Ice. Among the acquisitions from the “Skating” tour was Sandra Bezic, who took over as choreographer and director of Stars on Ice for several years. In recent years, Christopher Dean has taken over choreography duties for the show.

Stars on Ice primarily tours in the United States and Canada, although shows have also been staged in locations in Europe and Japan. The 2006-2007 tour will be its 21st season.

So says Clapton’s wiki. It turns out that ol’ Slowhand has a tour lined up in 2007 and is making a stop in Phoenix at the US Airways Center. This show is sure to be big so if you are having trouble finding tickets you want here is where we recommend you hunt online:

Also, the box office itself is always the cheapest route (even if all the good seats tend to be available only in the choices above)

From Rod Stewart’s wiki we get this:

Roderick David Stewart (born January 10, 1945) is a British singer who was a member of the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces before embarking on a solo career. His fiancee is model Penny Lancaster.

In a career in its fifth decade, Stewart has achieved numerous hit singles worldwide, most notably in the UK, where his tally of 62 hit singles includes 24 that went Top 10, of which six went all the way to number one.

It has been estimated that Stewart’s album and single sales total more than 200 million, easily earning him a place on the list of best-selling music artists.

Hold on there… 1945?? Wow. That guy is no spring chicken… But he’s young enough to tour still and he’s bringing his act to Key Arena.
