Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team is the football team of the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, United States. The team competes as an Independent at the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision level.

Notre Dame has the most consensus national championships and has produced more All-Americans than any other Football Bowl Subdivision school. Additionally, seven Fighting Irish football players have won the Heisman Trophy.

Notre Dame is one of only two Catholic universities that field a team in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the other being Boston College, and one of a handful of programs independent of a football conference. I work with a guy that graduated from UCLA and he loves his old team. I worry for him when the Husky dudes destroy his team. Come to Husky stadium in Seattle for the college football action. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The UCLA Bruins football program competes in NCAA Division I-A and is a member of the Pacific-10 Conference. The Bruins have enjoyed several periods of success in their history, having been ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll at least once in every decade since the poll began in the 1930s. Their first major period of success came in the 1950s, under head coach Red Sanders. Sanders led the Bruins to a shared national championship in 1954, three league championships, and an overall record of 66-19-1 in 9 years. In the 1980s and 1990’s, during the tenure of Terry Donahue, the Bruins compiled a 151-74-8 record, including 13 bowl games and an NCAA record eight straight bowl wins. The program has produced 28 first round draft picks, 30 consensus All-Americans, and multiple major award winners.

The Stanford Cardinal football program competes in NCAA Division I-A and is a member of the Pac-10 Conference. Stanford began playing football in 1892, and its annual Big Game against Cal, also begun 1892, is one of the oldest rivalry games in college football.

BYU is coming to Washington to play some football. Come to the Husky Stadium in Seattle for the game. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The Brigham Young University Cougars are a college football program that competes in NCAA Division I-A and the Mountain West Conference. Despite being considered a mid-major program, the Cougars have been successful when competing against other Division I-A teams. The Cougars won the national championship in 1984 and also have a Heisman Trophy winner in Ty Detmer. They are the last “mid-major” program to have achieved both distinctions. Brigham Young University (BYU) also holds the NCAA record for most consecutive games without being shutout - 361 games over 28 years. The Cougars have won 23 conference championships and played in 26 bowl games, going 9-16-1 in them.

The Oklahoma Sooners football program is a college football team that represents the University of Oklahoma (variously “Oklahoma” or “OU”).
