Tool Concert Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

If you like hare rock bands, Tool is the band for you. They are playing at the Everett Event Center here in Seattle. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Tool is an American rock band, formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of drummer Danny Carey, bassist Justin Chancellor, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan.

The band emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first LP when the genre was dominated by thrash metal, and was later seen at the top of the alternative metal movement with the release of their second LP, Ænima, in 1996. Efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with Lateralus (2001) and the most recent album 10,000 Days (2006) and gained the band critical acclaim and success around the world. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.[1]

Due to Tool’s incorporation of visual arts and relatively long and complex releases, the band is generally described as a style-transgressing act and part of progressive and art rock. The relationship between the band and today’s music industry is ambivalent,[2] at times marked by censorship and the bandmembers’ insistence on privacy.

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

Some of my family loves this show. I have never gotten into it, but it sounds like a good show. The tour is coming to Seattle at the Everett Events Center. Go see So You Think You Can Dance. Here is some info from wiki:

So You Think You Can Dance is an American dance reality show and competition that is broadcast on the Fox Network, on Fox Japan, on CTV in Canada, on Living in United Kingdom and Ireland and on Network Ten in Australia.

The series premiered on July 20, 2005 and has a similar premise to the American Idol series of singing competitions, with nationwide auditions leading to the discovery of the next big star. The show was created by Idol’s Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and is produced by 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions. A mixture of contestants are chosen for the show, ranging from unknown street dancers to winners of national championships. All contestants have to work their way through a rigorous audition process, and, over the course of the show, are assigned different dance styles and partners each week to test their versatility.

It was the #1 rated show in summer 2006 for adults aged 18-49, and on 2006-07-24, while still in production of its second season, it was renewed for its third season. The first season was hosted by Lauren Sánchez; the show is currently hosted by Cat Deeley. In August 2006, it was also announced that there are now spinoff versions of the show in New Zealand, Turkey, Israel, Malaysia, and Norway, with several other countries in the works.

So You Think You Can Dance holds auditions across the major cities of the US, looking for the top dancers in each city. All types of dance backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Salsa, ballroom, hip hop, street dancing, contemporary, jazz, ballet and many other types of dancers can be seen auditioning for a chance to win the grand prize—which, in the past, has included a new Hybrid SUV, $100,000 in cash, and a dancing role in Celine Dion’s Las Vegas show—of US$250,000 and the title of “America’s favorite dancer.”

Hilary Duff Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Other, Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

I went to Hollywood for a few days back in 2003 and she was preforming on the Ryan Seacrest show. I saw the show (which was one song) and she was pretty good. She is performing at the Everett Event Center. Here is some info from her wiki:

Duff was born in Houston, Texas, the second child of Robert Erhard Duff, owner of a chain of convenience stores, and Susan Colleen (nee Cobb), a homemaker. Her middle name is the maiden name of her part German-American paternal grandmother, Mary Erhard; Duff also has German ancestry on the part of her maternal grandmother, Amy Beulah Schlemmer. After Duff’s mother encouraged her to take an acting class alongside her older sister, Haylie Katherine Duff, both girls won parts in various local theatre productions. At the ages of eight and six, respectively, the Duff sisters participated in the ballet The Nutcracker Suite with Columbus Ballet Met in San Antonio. The siblings became more enthusiastic about the idea of acting professionally, and eventually relocated to California with their mother. Bob Erhard Duff stayed at the family home in Houston to maintain their business. (Susan and Bob separated in 2006.) After several years of auditions and meetings, the Duff sisters were cast in several television commercials.

Rockstar Supernova Tickets in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

So I admit I watched the show this year. I wasn’t too thrilled with any of the contestants or the band but maybe it’s just that the style ain’t my thang. Anyway, the short balding guy with the eye makeup and the goofy hair ended up winning (Lucas? Lukas? something like that). Not my choice — I hate all the exaggerated scooping he does with his vocals — but apparently he got the most votes by fans so the band went with him. I’ve heard the single on the radio so they seem to be doing alright. And the ticket brokers seem to think this show will sell out because they scooped up a lot of the best tickets already.

If you haven’t found the tickets you are looking for to this show yet here is where you should hunt:

AIW Tickets has tickets to three shows starting at $75
Stubhub has tickets tickets starting a $125

Rock on.

Tickets to The Used Concert in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

So the newish band The Used has an upcoming show at the Everett Event Center. I guess they already have two gold records (meaning two records that sold more than 500,000 copies each). That’s pretty good. I hear they are calling their genre “screamo” (apparently a mixture of screaming and emo). Hmmmm… ok…. sounds ridiculous to these ears but some people seem to be taking it seriously. There is even a screamo wiki entry (not that that means anything):

Screamo is a musical genre which evolved from emo, post-hardcore, more specifically hardcore emo in the early 1990s. Characteristic of the genre are hardcore screaming vocals, harmonized guitars, and fast-paced riffs. Breakdowns in screamo songs are often slower and more melodic than in other genres, less of a “beatdown” and more of an opportunity for introspection (and rest for the musicians). Other than that, it is fairly hard to classify (particularly since the rule about screaming vocals is bent fairly often).

Well if you just can’t get enough screamo in your life here is where we recommend you hunt for your tickets to see The Used:

Blue Man Group Tickets in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Theater

You’ve seen them on TV but have you seen them in person? I haven’t, but I want to. I’m told they put on an extremely entertaining live show which has been perfected over the years with various performers under the Blue. Their wiki says this about the group:

Blue Man Group’s theatrical acts incorporate rock music (with an emphasis on percussion), odd props, audience participation, sophisticated lighting, and large amounts of paper. It is also noted for having a “poncho section” of the audience; in the front rows, audience members are provided with plastic ponchos in order to protect them from various foods, substances, paints, and so on, which get thrown, ejected, or sprayed from the stage. The shows are family-oriented, humorous, energetic and often employ thought-provoking satire on modern life. Much of the humor breaks the fourth wall, for example, interrupting the show to ridicule latecomers in the audience.

If you aren’t finding the tickets you want to this performance here is where we recommend you look:

AIW Tickets has tickets to three shows starting at $100
Stubhub has tickets tickets starting a $148

More GNR trivia from the wiki:

Guns N’ Roses is an American hard rock band that gained fame during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band’s 1987 major label debut, Appetite for Destruction, earned them worldwide popularity. Their 1991 effort, the simultaneous release of Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, and subsequent world tour solidified their status. Having sold an estimated 90 million albums worldwide, they are considered one of America’s most successful hard rock bands today.

The band’s musical style, onstage presence, and image helped usher in a new era within the dominant hard rock and heavy metal scene of the 1980s. With glam metal as the leading genre in record sales, video charts, and radio airplay, Guns N’ Roses offered a grittier, more traditionalist take on rock music, which helped to popularize the sub-genre of glam metal known as sleaze rock, and won many fans who admired their apparent authenticity. The band enjoyed worldwide success from 1987 through 1993, but the clashing personalities of various band members, coupled with heavy alcohol and drug abuse hindered the group’s ability to work together. Today, frontman Axl Rose is the only original member in the band’s current lineup.

Tickets to Doodlebops in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Theater

Alright, I admit it: The Doodlebops kinda creep me out. My toddler likes the show well enough but I cringe every time it comes on. Seems too similar to the weird psychedelic stuff from decades past like HR Puff n Stuff and that always creeped me out as a kid. Plus, the whole music dance theater thing that the doodle bops reek of just ain’t my thing.

But let’s face it — The Doodlebops are not targeted toward dads; the Doodlebops are targeted toward little kids and little kids eat this kind of stuff up. So if you are looking for primo seats to their Seattle shows we have you covered. They have performances scheduled at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, The Everett Events Center in Everett, and the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.

Stubhub has excellent tickets (including front row seats) ranging from $86-160.
AIW Tickets has similarly excellent seats ranging from $60-85 (though only in Everett it seems)
Ticketsnow has many of the same seats ranging from $75-165

And for your reading pleasure here is some more info on the Doodlebops:

The Doodlebops is a Canadian musical comedy series for preschool children. Beginning its broadcasting run in 2004, the series, produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment airs on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Canada in the CBC Kids morning block, and on the Disney Channel in the USA as part of the Playhouse Disney morning programming schedule. The series stars are Lisa J. Lennox as Deedee Doodle, Chad McNamara as Rooney Doodle, and Jonathan Wexler as Moe Doodle.

The Doodlebops’ characters are members of a kids’ band, not unlike The Wiggles.

The show features a mix of music, humor and skits that teach pro-social lessons. The show always includes scenes from a concert in front of a preschool audience who actively participate in the singing and dancing.

The band members wear heavy make-up and/or prosthetics to look like live-action cartoon characters. They wore cloth hoods with fake ears during the show’s first season only. In the show’s second season, the band changes to flashier versions of their standard costumes, including sequins and other metallic fabrics, during their concert segments.

Panic! at the Disco Tickets in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Everett Events Center Tickets, Concerts

Panic! at the Disco is coming to Seattle at the Everett Center.

Here’s some info from Panic at the Disco’s wiki page for your reading pleasure:

Panic! at the Disco was formed in the suburban area of Summerlin, in unincorporated Las Vegas, by childhood friends Ryan Ross on guitar and Spencer Smith on drums. Since the age of thirteen, the two played blink-182 covers in bands of different formations, but finally recruited Brent Wilson on bass and Brendon Urie on vocals and guitar. One theory of the origin of the band’s name is from the song Panic! by The Smiths. The main theory is that the band’s name originated from a song written by Name Taken, titled Panic.

Tickets are still available to see this new band rock the stage! Here’s where to look for them:

AIW Tickets does have seats from $75-$95
