Kenny Loggins Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Emerald Queen Casino Tickets, Concerts

This picture says,”I am sexy, come listen to me sing.” I am kind of creeped out knowing that a picture is saying that to me. Kenny Loggins is coming to Seattle and he is performing at the Emerald Queen Casino. Here is some info from his wiki:

Loggins was born in Everett, Washington and raised in Alhambra, California. The early 70s found him in the band “Gator Creek” with Mike Deasy. An early version of “Danny’s Song” (later recorded by Loggins and Messina) was included on this effort on Mercury Records. Two covers are featured as well, Jackson Browne’s “These Days” and “Don’t Try to Lay no Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll” which was made famous by Long John Baldry.

Loggins continued his career in the 1970s. After attracting the attention of fellow singer-songwriter Jim Messina, the two began a duo career as Loggins and Messina. It lasted until 1976. In 1977, Loggins went on to produce his first solo album, Celebrate Me Home, which included the hit “I Believe In Love”. Nightwatch, a popular album released in 1978, included the hit “Whenever I Call You Friend”, a duet with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. He followed this in 1979 with Keep the Fire, whose “This Is It” would be sampled by hip hop rapper Papoose for his 2005 track Cherrades. In 1982 he recorded the album “High Adventure” where he collaborated with Michael McDonald on “Heart to Heart” and also with Journey lead singer Steve Perry to record “Don’t Fight It”, both Billboard Top 20 hits that year.

Frankie Valli Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Emerald Queen Casino Tickets, Concerts

Being a young wiper snapper, I don’t know who Frankie Villi is, but if you do get your tickets. He is performing at the Emerald Queen Casino. Here is some info from his wiki:

Frankie Valli (born May 3, 1934 in the First Ward of Newark, New Jersey as Francis Stephen Castelluccio) is best known as the lead singer of The Four Seasons, a music act of the 1960s, which continued from then to the 1970s disco scene to the present day.

Valli scored over 25 Top-40 hits with The Four Seasons, a handful of Top-40 hits dubbed as a solo act in the late 1960s, one dubbed as “The Wonder Who?” in 1965 and again in the mid to late 1970s. Together they made the hit single December, 1963 (Oh What a Night) that can still be heard on the radio today. His best known “solo” single is Can’t Take My Eyes Off You which reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967′ ‘Are you ready now’ became a surprise hit in the UK as part of the Northern Soul scene and hit no11 on the UK pop charts in 1971. Valli scored big again in 1975 when ‘My Eyes Adored you’ hit no 1 on Billboards Hot 100. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with The Four Seasons in 1990.

Valli started his singing career in 1952. He cut his first single in 1953 as “Frankie Valley,” a name he adopted from Jean Valley, his favorite female singer. In the mid-1950s he split up with the Travellers and joined The Variety Trio, which consisted of Tommy DeVito, twin brother Nick, and Hank Majewski. They redubbed themselves the Variatones, and later, “The Four Lovers” and had a top 40 hit with “Apple of My Eye” in 1956. After a few more name changes, the group was renamed “The Four Seasons” in 1960. About the same time, Valli “re-Italianized” his name to its current form. Nick DeVito and Majewski left the group in 1960 or 1961 and were replaced by Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi. Nick Massi was replaced in 1965 by Charlie Calello, the group’s arranger, and then shortly after Charlie was replaced by Joe Long. As the lead singer of the Four Seasons, he had a string of hits beginning with #1 hit “Sherry” in 1962. Valli has been the lead singer from then until the present time, occasionally releasing singles under his own name, notably the theme song from the film version of Grease, (written by Barry Gibb), which was a #1 hit. In 1976, Valli covered the Beatles song “A Day in the Life” for the ephemeral musical documentary All This and World War II.

The only song I know about Billy Ocean is, “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car”. I have been singing that song in my head for the last few months. He is performing at the Emerald Queen Casino soon so get your tickets. Here is some info from wiki:

He was born in Fyzabad, Trinidad and Tobago to Grenadian parents, and moved to England with his family at the age of eight. In his teenage years, he sang regularly in London clubs. He released his first single in 1972 on Spark Records as Les Charles.

By 1976 he had adopted the name Billy Ocean and recorded his debut album, Billy Ocean, with the first single, “Love Really Hurts Without You,” charting at number 2 in the UK and number 22 in the U.S. More hits followed, including as “L.O.D. (Love On Delivery)”. He also wrote songs for other artists such as LaToya Jackson. In 1982 he hit the U.S. Rhythm and Blues Chart with “Nights (Feel Like Getting Down).”

Ocean’s period of greatest success began with Suddenly in 1984 and its main single “Caribbean Queen”. The song’s title and lyrics were changed for different regions, such that the song is also known as “African Queen” or “European Queen”. The album’s title track also became a hit. His 1986 album Love Zone also sold very well. It included the hit singles “When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going” (the theme from the film The Jewel of the Nile, this was a number one hit in the UK and a number two in the U.S.; and “There’ll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)” (a U.S. number one, and also a major UK hit).

Ocean’s next album, Tear Down These Walls (1988) featured another number one single, “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car”.

His later albums, such as Time to Move On, Love is For Ever (also known as L.I.F.E.) and Showdown, failed to spawn hits, but his 1989 Greatest Hits collection has been a steady seller over the years.

Tickets to The Nutcracker in Seattle

By: Tickets Finder    Category: Emerald Queen Casino Tickets, Theater

Hey, what screams “Christmas” more than a ballet about a girl who gets magically shrunken and then fights a evil rat king? (Or maybe he is just a mouse king… at any rate, he’s the bad guy.) Apparently not much. And once again there is a top-flight production of the Nutcracker playing this December in Seattle. The music is as beautiful as ever and the dancing makes for a lovely experience every year. Here is a little trivia on the Nutcracker from the wiki:

The Nutcracker (Russian: Щелкунчик, English: Shchelkunchik), Op. 71, is a fairy-ballet in two acts, three tableaux, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1891–1892, and based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King (German: Nußknacker und Mausekönig), a story by E. T. A. Hoffmann (1816). Alexandre Dumas’ adaptation of the story was set to music by Tchaikovsky (after the libretto of Marius Petipa) and has become the most popular ballet performed around Christmas time. It is appealing to children and adults alike and has been a standard yearly feature of theatres in many cities. A selection of eight of the more popular numbers from the ballet was made by the composer, forming The Nutcracker Suite, designed for concert performance. The titles of the ballet (simply The Nutcracker) and the suite (The Nutcracker Suite) are frequently confused.

Tchaikovsky composed the ballet in 1891–1892, but he was unsatisfied with it and considered it to be one of his less successful pieces.

The first performance of the ballet was held as a double premiere together with Tchaikovsky’s last opera Iolanta on December 6/18, 1892, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Russia. The ballet was conducted by Riccardo Drigo and choreographed by Lev Ivanov. However, this performance had just limited success.

The current popularity of The Nutcracker is due in part to Willam Christensen, former Ballet master of the San Francisco Ballet, who imported the work to the United States in 1944. The success of the ballet and George Balanchine’s choreography for his own 1954 version created a winter tradition of Nutcracker performances in the United States.
