I had no idea these guys were from Australia. Weird!! AC/DC is coming to America to rock the Tacoma Dome. Here is some info from wikipedia:

AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Although the band are commonly classified as hard rock, and considered pioneers of heavy metal, they have always classified their music as “rock and roll”.

AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977. Rieu and orchestra returned to Australia in November as part of his world tour. The Fray is one of my favorite bands. They are coming to Seattle for a show at the Paramount Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

I haven’t heard Ben Folds play songs since Ben Folds Five was together. He is coming to Seattle to play at the Paramount Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

I love the show Flight of the Conchords on HBO. The duo is touring and bringing their songs to you. Come to the Paramount Theater for the show. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Daniel Q. Auerbach (born May 14, 1979) is the guitarist and vocalist for the Black Keys, a blues/rock group from Akron, Ohio. He is also a cousin of the late Robert Quine. Auerbach became infatuated with blues music during his childhood after being exposed to old records by his father chuck chuck.[1] In a technique similar to many earlier blues players, Auerbach often uses an index finger fingerpick along with his thumb to play chords. Cradle of Filth is a heavy extreme rock band and they like it that way. They are coming to Seattle for a shot time to put on a show. The fun will be at the Showbox Theater. Here is some info from Wiki:

Cradle of Filth is an extreme metal band from Suffolk, England. Formed in 1991, they have been embraced and disowned with equal fervour by various metal communities, and their particular subgenre has provoked a great deal of discussion.

The band’s sound evolved from black metal to a cleaner and more “produced” amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles, while their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. I have no idea who Devotchka is, but some people out there do. Devotchka is coming to Seattle for a show at the Showbox Theater. Here is some info from Wiki:

DeVotchKa is a four piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble that fuses Romani, Greek, Slavic, Bolero, Mariachi (and many more styles) music with American punk and folk roots. They take their name from Anthony Burgess’ Nadsat word for “young girl,” which is itself derived from the Russian word (девочка) of the same meaning. Based in Denver, Colorado, the quartet is made up of Nick Urata, who sings and plays theremin, guitar, bouzouki, piano, and trumpet; Tom Hagerman, who plays violin, accordion, and piano; Jeanie Schroder, who sings and plays sousaphone and double bass; and Shawn King, who plays percussion and trumpet.

I would have put a picture of Amanda here, but it was scary. She makes me sad inside. Ms. Palmer is coming to Seattle for a show at the Showbox Theater. Here is some info from Wiki:

Palmer’s solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, was released on 16 September 2008. Ben Folds produced and also played on the album. The title is a play on an expression used by fans during Twin Peaks’ original run, “Who killed Laura Palmer?”

“I think for a long time I felt like I had to scream to get my point across until I finally realized maybe that’s not the best way,” said Palmer in an article in Venus Zine.

In July 2007, Amanda played three sold out shows (Boston, Hoboken, and NYC) in rare “with band” performances. Her backing band was Boston alternative rock group Aberdeen City, who also opened along with Dixie Dirt.

In August 2007, Amanda traveled to perform in the Spiegeltent and other venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and also performed on BBC 2’s The Edinburgh Show. She collaborated with Australian theater company, “The Danger Ensemble”; both again appeared at the Spiegeltent in Melbourne and at other venues around Australia in December 2007.

In September 2007 Amanda collaborated with Jason Webley to release Evelyn Evelyn’s debut EP “Elephant Elephant” via Jason’s Eleven Records

I saw the English Beat play back in 2006. That was one good show. They are coming to the Showbox Theater here in Seattle soon. Here is some info from Wiki:

The band’s lead singer, Dave Wakeling, fronts “The English Beat” in the United States. Members include Wayne Lothian of General Public and Special Beat, Rick Torres of Supreme Beings of Leisure, Rhythm Epkins, Fernando Jativa and Paul Welch. They opened for 311 for part of their 2007 Summer Unity Tour. In 2006, the current U.K. version of The Beat, featuring Ranking Roger and Everett Morton, recorded a new album that was mixed by Adrian Sherwood, but it remains unreleased. After Blockhead left the band, he was replaced by Mickey Billingham, formerly a member of Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

A Supersucker sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The Supersuckers are coming to play at the Showbox Theater here in Seattle. Here is some info from Wiki:

The Supersuckers are an American rock band. They are the self-proclaimed “Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band in the World.” Following the relative success of their 1997 foray into country music with the release of Must’ve Been High, they have also been known to play country shows under various names, including, of course, The Supersuckers.

As of April 2005, the members are Eddie Spaghetti on bass and lead vocals along with Rontrose Heathman and Dan “Thunder” Bolton on guitars. Drummer and original member Dancing Eagle recently parted ways with the band while guitarist Dan “Thunder” Bolton is back after taking a long needed break from the road. Dusty Watson from Agent Orange was handling drums until March 2006. On June 16, 2006 The Supersuckers announced the addition of Scott Churilla as their new fulltime drummer.

I wish I knew the lethal move of the Five Finger Death Punch. Some day I may be that cool. We will have to settle for the band FFDP for now. They are coming to Seattle for a show at the Showbox theater. Here is some info from Wiki:

The band just finished touring on the Jägermeister Stage at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in the summer of 2008, a show which consisted of many bands such as Slipknot, Disturbed, Machine Head, Dragonforce, Mastodon, 36 Crazyfists, and many others.

They will be touring during the months of August to December 4th on a headlining tour with In This Moment, Bury Your Dead, and Another Black Day. While on this tour, they have been known to perform a cover of Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company.

Blues Traveler is a band I haven’t heard of for a while. They were big in the mid-90’s. The are coming to the Showbox Theater here is Seattle. Here is some info from Wiki:

Blues Traveler is an American rock band, formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. The group performs music influenced by a variety of genres, including blues rock, psychedelic rock, folk-style rock, soul, and Southern-influenced rock. They are known for extensive use of segues in their live performances.

Currently, the group comprises singer and harmonica virtuoso John Popper, guitarist Chan Kinchla, drummer Brendan Hill, bassist Tad Kinchla and keyboardist Ben Wilson. Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson joined the band following the death of original bassist Bobby Sheehan in 1999 of a drug overdose in New Orleans, Louisiana.

While Blues Traveler is best known among fans for their improvisational live shows, the general public is most familiar with the group from their singles “But Anyway”, “Run-Around” and “Hook”. They gained mainstream radio popularity from their fourth studio album Four, released in 1994.
