Shen Yun Performing Arts (simplified Chinese: 神韵艺术团; traditional Chinese: 神韻藝術團; pinyin: shén yùn yì shù tuán), formerly known as Divine Performing Arts, is a non-profit entertainment company based in New York. Founded in 2006, with a vision of renaissance and revival of the “true, five-millennia-old artistic tradition of China” as had thrived before its suppression during the Cultural Revolution and decades of communist rule, the company, according to its mission statement, seeks to “breathe new life into traditional Chinese culture.”

Each year the Shen Yun Performing Arts show tours several countries, performing across Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia. Shen Yun’s shows have been staged in several leading stages, including New York’s Radio City Music Hall, London’s Royal Festival Hall, Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, and Paris’ Le Palais de Congrès and have drawn praise from varied sources. I haven’t heard Ben Folds play songs since Ben Folds Five was together. He is coming to Seattle to play at the Paramount Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Because of his father’s work as a builder and carpenter, Folds moved frequently throughout his childhood. As a result, making friends was difficult. Consequently, Folds became attached to a piano his father brought home when he was 9, the result of a barter trade his father made with a customer who was unable to pay for his work. During this time, Folds listened to songs by Elton John and Billy Joel on AM radio, and learned them by ear. During his years at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Folds played in several bands as the pianist, bassist or drummer.

The Ice Capades was a traveling entertainment show featuring theatrical performances involving ice skating. Shows would often feature former Olympic and National Champion figure skaters who had retired from amateur competition.

Started in 1940, Ice Capades grew rapidly and prospered for fifty years. A decline in popularity ensued, and the show went out of business around 1995. There have been several attempts to revive the show and its name.

Similar traditional ice-skating entertainment shows included the Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice.

I love the show Flight of the Conchords on HBO. The duo is touring and bringing their songs to you. Come to the Paramount Theater for the show. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Flight of the Conchords is a Grammy Award-winning New Zealand comedy duo composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Shows are performed in arenas and theatres around the world, generally working on an eight to ten month touring schedule ending in the spring and resuming in the late summer.
