Stars On Ice Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Attractions, Key Arena Tickets

There is noting I like to see more than stars on ice. I guess. Stars on Ice is coming to the Key Arena for a show soon. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Stars on Ice is a touring figure skating show produced by IMG. It was originally conceived in 1986 as a vehicle for IMG client Scott Hamilton, who had been released from his contract with Ice Capades, after being told that male skaters do not sell tickets. Hamilton now has retired from regular touring with the show, but remains actively involved as a producer.

Stars on Ice was originally conceived as an ice show for adults, without the skating Smurfs or Disney cartoon characters typical of other commercial ice shows of the period, such as Disney on Ice. Another concept that has carried through the show from the beginning is that of a small cast of elite skaters who perform together in ensembles as well as solo numbers. In 1991, the Canadian branch of the show, Canadian Stars On Ice, began.

By: Spencer    Category: Concerts, Emerald Queen Casino Tickets

Merle Haggard is coming to Seattle for a show at the Emerald Queen Casino. Come out for the fun. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Merle Ronald Haggard (born April 6, 1937) is an American country music singer, guitarist and songwriter.

Despite serving a prison term in the early 1960s, Merle Haggard has become one of the true giants of country music, as a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Along with Buck Owens, Haggard and his band “The Strangers” helped create the Bakersfield Sound, which is characterized by the unique twang of Fender Telecaster guitars, vocal harmonies, and a rough edge not heard on the more polished Nashville Sound recordings of the same era. By the 1970s, Haggard was aligned with the growing outlaw country movement, and has continued to release successful albums through the 1990s and into the 2000s. His songs display unflinching personal honesty about such universal themes as love, loss, patriotism, regret and redemption.

Cradle of Filth Tickets in Seattle

By: Spencer    Category: Concerts, Showbox Theater Tickets

Cradle of Filth is a heavy extreme rock band and they like it that way. They are coming to Seattle for a shot time to put on a show. The fun will be at the Showbox Theater. Here is some info from Wiki:

Cradle of Filth is an extreme metal band from Suffolk, England. Formed in 1991, they have been embraced and disowned with equal fervour by various metal communities, and their particular subgenre has provoked a great deal of discussion.

The band’s sound evolved from black metal to a cleaner and more “produced” amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles, while their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. The band have successfully broken free of their original niche by courting mainstream publicity (often to the chagrin of its early fanbase), and this increased accessibility has brought coverage by the likes of Kerrang! and MTV, frequent main stage appearances at major festivals such as Ozzfest, Download and even the mainstream Sziget Festival, and in turn a more “commercial” image. They have sometimes been perceived as Satanic by casual observers, although their outright lyrical references to Satanism are few and far between, and use of satanic imagery has arguably always had more to do with the shock value than any seriously-held beliefs. According to Metal Hammer magazine, they are the most successful British metal band since Iron Maiden

In July 2007, Amanda played three sold out shows (Boston, Hoboken, and NYC) in rare “with band” performances. Her backing band was Boston alternative rock group Aberdeen City, who also opened along with Dixie Dirt.
